John Runde

John is a proud Texan and a proud American. Before attending law school, John served in the United States Marine Corps as an infantryman and deployed to Iraq.  His involvement with Operation Iraqi Freedom shaped his perspective in a fundamental manner and further solidified his long-term desire to advocate for those who cannot advocate for themselves.  After returning home, John went on to complete his Juris Doctor at the Texas Tech University School of Law.

I have always enjoyed debating issues and advocating for causes, and lawyers are full-time advocates.

Today, John relishes the thrill of the courtroom.  He continually finds that his time in the military has given him a unique approach to many problems and situations, and this gives him a clear advantage in court.  Even so, he enjoys advocating most when opposing counsel is passionate and skilled, as he thrives when presented with a challenge.  The never-ending supply of obstacles his clients bring to him only fuel his fire to think creatively and litigate aggressively.  And, of course, he never gets tired of advocating for his clients or collaborating with his close-knit team at the firm.

Since he was licensed, he has exclusively practiced trial law and civil litigation, including commercial litigation, insurance law, construction defect litigation, and more.  He was fortunate enough to get a good deal of trial experience early in his career

John prioritizes people in his life above all else, and when he’s not working with his clients and colleagues, he dedicates his time to his family.  One of his favorite activities is reading books to his young son.  He also strives to enjoy the outdoors by running and hunting whenever he can.
